You must ensure that you have completed all relevant documentation before you leave on your study or work abroad programme or work placement.
Outbound documentation tool
Use the Outbound Documentation Tool to manage the tasks and documents you need to complete before your placement.
Use to access the tool by selecting My Study Abroad Administration.
The tool:
- shows the tasks and documents you need for your placement type
- allows you to upload and view documents

Terms and conditions
All students participating in a Study abroad or external placement must accept the terms and conditions for their programme.

Study abroad placements
Pre-departure agreement
If you are a study abroad student, you must complete the pre-departure agreement before you leave for your study abroad placement.
Read the terms and conditions for your programme before you complete the agreement. Your permission to study abroad depends on you agreeing to the study abroad terms and conditions.
Complete the task in .
You must complete the agreement by 31 May.
When you complete the pre-departure agreement, you must confirm:
- you agree to the terms and conditions for your programme
- the Global Office can speak to your next of kin in an emergency, if needed
- you have previously received Turing funding, if this applies to you

Work placements
Pre-departure agreement
If you are a with-integrated-year-abroad (WIYA) student or have a work placement in the UK, you must complete the pre-departure agreement before you leave for your work placement.
Read the terms and conditions for your programme before you complete the agreement. Your permission to study abroad depends on you agreeing to the external placement terms and conditions

Host institution procedures
Your host institution may ask you to complete and return documents before you start your placement.
These may include:
- an application for admission
- an accommodation application, if you need one
- other documents for exchange students
Check your host institution’s website for details and deadlines. This will help you complete the right documents on time.
