Research areas

Professor Hall is Honorary Professor of Medicine in 精东传媒 and a at the University of Leicester. He is also Visiting Professor at Pretoria University and formally held chairs at Imperial College and the London Business School. He is an advisor to the Bank of Greece.

Previously, he was a member of the executive Committee of UN DESA , and has been a consultant to the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund. He was an economic advisor at the Bank of England and a visiting senior research fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. He has published over 300 journal articles and 12 books.

With Dr Bernadette O鈥橦are, Professor Hall co-founded the Government Revenue and Development Estimations ()听project, the aim of which is to put development and human rights at the core of discussions about fiscal policies. By translating the effects of international fiscal听policies on a government鈥檚 ability to raise and spend revenue听into听health and human rights outcomes for real听people, the project empowers NGOs, policymakers, journalists, and researchers to advocate for a fairer world.
