Biography

Andrew Torrance is a Professor of Theology and a Co-Director of the Logos Institute for Analytic and Exegetical Theology, alongside Oliver Crisp. Prior to his permanent appointment at 精东传媒, he launched and led the programme Scientists in Congregations Scotland, which explored ways of creating a constructive conversation about science and faith within the life of the Church. Andrew received his doctorate from the University of Otago in 2013, focusing on S酶ren Kierkegaard鈥檚 and Karl Barth鈥檚 theology of conversion.听

Alongside his work in the Logos Institute, Andrew was a member of an interdisciplinary team of scholars, based at Baylor University, researching the nature of accountability as a relational virtue. As a part of this team, he wrote the monograph Accountability to God. Andrew was also a member of another interdisciplinary group of scholars, organised by Biologos, exploring the nature of human identity and personhood. Lastly, he recently finished co-writing, with Alan Torrance, the book Beyond Immanence: The Theological Vision of Kierkegaard and Barth.

Currently, he is working on his next book on a theology of progress.

Aside from his academic work, Andrew is committed to ensuring that his theological work is publicly engaged.
