Research areas
Alex [she/her] is a PhD candidate in the School of Art History studying the religious art and material culture of Ethiopia. She is primarily interested in early modern manuscripts, and the collection histories of the British institutions which hold them.
Her doctoral project investigates a group of Ethiopian manuscripts in Edinburgh, combining Ethiopian art historical analysis with provenance research and postcolonial approaches to explore historical networks of knowledge and exchange between Scotland and Ethiopia.
