You are responsible for arranging your accommodation, checking deadlines and making sure you have a safe place to stay. Some host institutions may offer or require on-campus accommodation, but others may expect you to find private accommodation.

understand that accommodation is not guaranteed at many exchange partners

Note, in the USA accommodation often includes a meal plan rather than self-catered accommodation.

ask your employer or School for advice if you will work abroad
avoid feeling pressured to accept accommodation suggested by your employer or School

Stay safe and avoid scams

never visit potential accommodation alone
make sure you have an official contract
stay alert to scams, especially on social media
use a registered letting agent where possible
