Course information
This is a new training course on the 鈥楶hD by portfolio of published work (student route)鈥�. The PhD by portfolio was formally introduced at the University of 精东传媒 in 2023 with a new policy (though had been informally practiced prior). This has generated questions from PhD students, their supervisors, and examiners about a) formal requirements and informal expectations; b) best practices with regards to planning and formatting a PhD by portfolio project; c) broader considerations about the benefits and limitations of choosing this PhD format as opposed to a traditional PhD by monograph thesis. The training course builds on insights from the experiences and recommendations of early adopters at 精东传媒, as well as the broader higher education literature on this thesis format. The course is suitable for PhD supervisors and examiners from all Schools/disciplines.
