Student Association Teaching Award for Tom Smith
Congratulations to Tom Smith who was awarded a 2022 Student Association Teaching Award for Outstanding Academic Mentorship, which 鈥渁cknowledges the way a member of teaching staff influences students' overall development (both personally and academically)鈥�. Tom鈥檚 student nomination describes him as having 鈥渁lways been responsive, keen, and encouraging, leaving space for me to make my own academic discoveries and pursue my own interests鈥�. The nominator wrote that Tom 鈥渋s always open-minded and conscious of the inequalities that are rife in academia鈥� and 鈥渉elped me to become the best academic community member as well as scholar鈥�. Tom received the award alongside eight colleagues in other Student Association Award categories from across the University.
