Awards success for PhD student
Shruti Narayanswamy, a final year PhD student in the Department of Film Studies, has received a special commendation from the awards committee for the 2019 Domitor Student Essay Competition. Shruti was recognised for her essay, 'Women鈥檚 Work in 鈥楽anitising鈥� Cinema in 1920s Bombay,' which was praised by the committee for offering 鈥渁 genuine contribution to the field of early cinema history.鈥�
It is only the second time since these prestigious awards began more than a decade ago that a student from a UK institution has been recognised.
